Implementation period: 06.05.2014 – 20.09.2015
Target audience: Business operators, public officials and NGO's, operating in the agricultural industry in Ajara region.
Project aim: Supporting Euro integration processes of Georgia through the harmonization of Georgian standards existing in the sphere of food and animal feed production with the European standards.
Project Objectives:
- Raising awareness level of food and animal feed producers operating in Ajara region and public officials regarding HACCP and ISO standards.
- Establishment of training and consultancy center for educating Ajarian food and animal feed producers regarding HACCP and ISO standards implementation issues.
- Supporting the non-governmental system of monitoring of implementation HACCP and ISO standards.
Activities, envisaged within the project:
Conducting trainings for entrepreneurs operating in the region, public officials and representatives of non-governmental organizations;
Developing the practical textbook of HACCP standards implementation and distributing among business operators;
Creating the special software for recording the production process for simplifying and improving entrepreneurs work;
Involving the interested non-governmental organisation in the monitoring processes of the HACCP and ISO standards implementation progress in the enterprises of the entrepreneurs involved in the project.
Project results:
1. The training "Good practice of hygiene and production, development of systems of HACCP and its establishment" was conducted;
2. HACCP guidelines was published in Georgian language;
3. The electronic program of recordings of the production process was created;
4.Training center was established, which will provide consultations for the entrepreneurs in the future and conduct training sessions on food safety issues.
